Most people are happy when Daylight Saving Time ends because it is a bad idea that doesn’t do any of the things it claims to do, like save energy, encourage leisure time. I’m happy because it eliminates a common error that people make when they list the time of events. People frequently include EST after the time of an event that takes place in the Eastern Time Zone, but for half the year that is wrong. The correct time zone designation is EDT. Almost nobody uses that. Time listings will be correct for the next six months until we change the time ahead in the Spring.
