Analysis of a Name

I drink what used to be called Almond Milk. Apparently the "got milk" people got upset that something that does not come from the teats of an animal was also called milk. I don't actually drink it, but I pour it over my morning cereal like milk.

The brand we bought is a store brand, so the store's name has to be on the carton. It's made from nuts and water, so it is non-dairy. That goes on there too. And it doesn't contain extra sugar, which is helpful information for consumers.

The full name is: [Redacted]'s Non-Dairy Almond Beverage Original Unsweetened.

I don't know what original is supposed to represent, but with all of those qualifiers, this surely doesn't represent the original version of anything.
