Grace has wanted to take karate, or any martial arts, for the past year or so, and she is finally enrolled in a class of To-Shin Do, which is an Americanized version of Ninjutsu, the Japanese training technique of ninja. In her class on Saturday she practices throwing rubber ninja stars. She and the other students lined up and the coaches threw stars at them. Don’t worry, they wore goggles to protect their eyes. It was actually a good exercise, as the kids learned how to block their faces and move out of the way. Grace got hit in the head two times, and was fine.
