This morning I made toast for breakfast, since I didn’t have anything else in the house for this most important meal of the day. I got the bread out of the freezer and popped it in the toaster. And waited.
While I was waiting, I thought about that the kids don’t even use the toaster. The two main toaster-centric foods they eat are frozen waffles and pop-tarts, and they prefer both heated in the microwave. The waffles get soft and yucky, but it is really just a vehicle for syrup. The pop-tarts are okay with the inside, usually chocolate, all melty goodness. I think they are better from the toaster with the outside crispy to go with the melty goodness, but they just don’t agree.
