When my kids were young and we celebrated Christmas I used to have a special hat that I wore on Christmas morning. It was a fleece winter hat that attached with a drawstring. The pattern was a mix of muted blues, reds, and gray. It was in the early days of snowboarder attire, so it was pretty calm. The shape of it recalled a Russian fur hat, although it looked more like Fievel Mousekewitz’s hat, the mouse from the animated movie An American Tail. We referred to it as my Fievel hat.
