The first thing I saw was the real estate sign. It said Property Available. This was in front of a long-time church. The small building sits near the corner of a busy intersection. I don’t ever remember it not being there.
I looked closer to see if it was still active, or if it seemed like the congregation had already moved on. It turns out the church sold their building and property to a real estate developer about five years ago, but no progress has happened on their planned six-story office building.
The most notable feature of the still-standing church is the bare wood that marks where the cross was attached to the building. This shadow of faith stands out in contrast to the chipping white paint.
