There's a common expression to celebrate the end of a school that I never quite understood. It's because I never saw it written down.
No more pencils, no more books.
That's the first part. That all makes sense.
It's the second part that never made sense.
No more teachers. Dirty looks.
I couldn't figure out where dirty looks fit into the celebration. I just saw this written and realized that it was not plural teachers, but possessive teacher's. The dirty looks belong to them.
I guess I never had any teachers who gave me dirty looks, so it just didn't make any sense.
