Deborah worked so hard to keep the squirrels away from the bird feeders, but it turns out that squirrel-proofing does not raccoon-proof or possum-proof. Mornings have started looking like crime scenes in the yard. Baffles have been stomped down to the bottom of poles. Bird seed is all over the ground, and feeding squirrels in the morning. And the feeders are open, smashed, broken or otherwise rolled off in a corner of the yard that it makes me want to draw a chalk outline around them.
And why do I think raccoon over possum? Because something has purposely moved these feeders through a spiral hook in a way would not happen by banging on it or swinging on it would do.
Tonight we brought the bird feeders inside for the night.
