I looked out my window and saw two of my neighbors leaning over the driver’s side door of a car. They were standing in a position that could only mean one thing. They were trying to unlock the car after locking the keys inside. After a moment, my suspicions were confirmed when I saw the straightened coat hanger.
Later in the day, I saw them still working to get the car unlocked. Modern cars are much harder to pop the lock than older style locks were. I would have called a locksmith rather than make this the afternoon’s activity.
They were still working on it the next day when I saw them finally get the door open.
