Words are precise. Words are nuanced. I spend my days trying to find the right word. So when I encounter the wrong word, it stops me in my tracks. I read two different articles about COVID vaccines that used the word jab in describing people deciding to get the virus. There is such a high incidence of people saying that they will refuse a vaccine, and the word jab does not help assuage them that this is something that should do.
