I am reading a book with footnotes that are indicated by asterisks. The asterisks are almost too small to read and blur into quotation marks. Often I get to the end of the page and read the footnote, with little regard to exactly what sentence it is attached to. I just treat it like additional information because I can't always see what it is attached to.
