Years ago I started getting new credit cards with chips embedded in them. This was to improve the security over the old magnetic strip, which still exists on all credit cards. It turns out that the chip is old technology too that has long been hackable as well. But I finally got my first card without the numbers embossed on the front. Why did it take so long for those to go away. The rollers and the carbons that took advantage of those raised numbers have long since gone the way of rotary phones and dial-up internet.
